   Tasting Notes

This deep, inky crimson wine offers a nose of ripe currants, wild blackberry, roasted red pepper, dusty soil, and dried rose. The palate reveals macerated black raspberry, sweet pipe tobacco, star anise, black cherry with some coffee bean and Spanish Lavender intrigue. The well-integrated tannins are firm yet plush providing structure with the classic Red Mountain acidity. The persistent finish highlights concentrated fruit, mocha, and stoney minerality.

86% Cabernet Franc, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon

 

Vinification

Primary 12-15 days in stainless steel tanks, spending 30+ days on skins. Each parcel was hand-sorted from the vineyard, with gentle fermentation and exteded maceration culminating over 30+ days. Cellared in 86% new French oak for 21 months.
